The presale for UFC 129 tickets began this morning, February 10, at 10 a.m. ET and they are selling at a breakneck pace. Early reports indicate that the majority of the tickets for the April 30 event at Rogers Centre have been sold to UFC Fight Club members. The UFC has not released the official sales numbers.
Following the UFC 129 press conference at the Rogers Centre Tuesday, UFC Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright said that some tickets will be made available Saturday, February 12 when they go on sale to the general public. The UFC has also stated that depending on how well sales go, they could add more seats if needed. Judging by the response of ticket buyers, the addition of seats is a likely scenario.
Tickets range from $50-$800 for the event with an expected record crowd of over 42,000. The UFC introduced an innovative way for fans to view the venue virtually when shopping for tickets. Those that wanted to purchase tickets today needed to pay a UFC Fight Club registration fee, plus a convenience charge for early access, which in turn meant that a $50 ticket would end up costing upwards of $150.
For fans that are unable to purchase a ticket for UFC 129, the organization is holding a Fan Expo on April 29 and 30 for people who wish to be a part of the weekend in some capacity. UFC Fan Expo tickets and VIP packages go on sale next week. The UFC Fight Club presale starts Monday, February 14 at 1 p.m. ET and the public sale begins February 15 at 1 p.m. ET. With tickets for UFC 129 being so expensive and selling so quickly, the Fan Expo might be the only chance Toronto fans will have to get the UFC experience.
