Hominick, 19-8 overall, is 3-2 in the WEC and has won 3 straight in the WEC and 4 in total. He was mentioned to be Jose Aldo’s next title challenger but that honor went to Josh Grispi.
Hominick has fought in the UFC twice before and beat Jorge Gurgel and Yves Edwards in his previous run as a UFC fighter where he fought as a Lightweight, a division above his normal fighting weight.
Hominick now faces George Roop a former TUF contestant. Roop, 11-6-1, is 1-1-1 in the WEC but is coming off a vicious head kick knockout victory over the Korean Zombie and a draw with Leonard Garcia. It is most likely that if Hominick wins this fight he will be the next to fight Aldo for UFC Featherweight Title.
