British Columbia’s Rory “The Athlete” MacDonald will be featured on the UFC 123 Prelims Live broadcast on Spike TV and Rogers Sportsnet on November 20. He takes on TUF 7 vet and renowned tough guy Matt Brown.
MacDonald is coming off his first career loss, which came at UFC 115 in Vancouver in a “Fight of the Night” performance. He went toe-to-toe with former WEC champ Carlos Condit for nearly three full rounds. MacDonald was winning the fight until Condit turned the tide in the third and stopped Rory by TKO with less than 10 seconds remaining in the highly entertaining bout. Many fans believed that fight was stopped prematurely, but MacDonald did not complain after the fight.
UFC 123 will be just the second time MacDonald has fought outside of Canada. In his first venture south of the border, MacDonald was victorious over Mike Guymon in his UFC debut in January.
The other featured prelim bout is a contest between top wrestler/power punchers Aaron Simpson and Mark Munoz. Both men are look to bounce back from losses to Chris Leben and Yushin Okami respectively.
UFC 123 features a light heavyweight contender bout between Rampage Jackson and Lyoto Machida, and a rubber match between two legends, Matt Hughes and BJ Penn.
