Top Canadian Welterweight prospect Rory MacDonald is out of his UFC 123 bout against Matt Brown due to a knee injury suffered in training. MacDonald will have to undergo surgery on October 14 but will likely only be out of action for a few weeks. The match was scheduled to take place live on Spike TV as parts of the Prelims Live series.
This was to be MacDonald’s third UFC outing after an impressive debut win over fellow King Of the Cage veteran Mike Guymon with a first round arm bar victory and a heartbreaking late third round loss to Carlos Condit in a fight he dominated the first two rounds only to be pounded out with only 7 seconds left in the fight.
