TORONTO, January 19th, 2011 – Score Media Inc. (TSX: SCR) today announces that theScore will be televising the “Wreck MMA – Strong and Proud” card as part of The Score Fighting Series. The event takes place on January 28, 2011 at Casino Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec and will air on theScore via tape delay two weeks after the event’s completion. Individual flights will be posted in the MMA section of theScore.com. The entire card will also be available live on internet pay-per-view atgofightlive.tv
The card will feature a solid combination of established and up and coming fighters. The main event will see a clash between seasoned veteran Joe “Diesel” Riggs and rising star Jordan “Young Guns” Mein. The co-main event features UFC veteran Mark “Boots” Holst versus Markhaile “Showtime” Wedderburn. Holst recently announced that he will retire from MMA after this fight as he looks to focus on the opening of his own MMA school. In addition, Nova Scotia’s Matt MacGrath takes on B.C.’s Kalib Starnes in middleweight action.
