Canadian Tim Hague returns to the UFC and will fight Joey Beltran at UFC 113.
Only two months after being cut from the UFC roster, Tim “The Thrashing Machine” Hague is back in the big leagues. Hague has replaced Chad Corvin who was scheduled to fight Joey Beltran at UFC 113. According to reports, Corvin's medical paperwork was not approved by the Quebec Athletic Commission. Instead, Hague will fight Beltran in an attempt to snap a two-fight losing streak.
The Alberta native won his promotional debut against Pat Berry at UFC 98, but then lost his next two fights. At UFC 102 he was on the receiving end of a record seven-second knockout courtesy of Todd Duffee, and lost a controversial majority decision Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109.
His opponent, Beltran, trains with Brandon Vera and is looking for his second consecutive win in the UFC. Beltran won his octagon debut against Rolles Gracie at UFC 109, defeating the much-hyped Brazilian by TKO in the first round.
Hague trains out of the Legends Training Center in Edmonton. The 6’4, 265lb genial giant recently quit his job in construction to focus on his fighting career full-time. Hague is the second Canadian in as many days to fill in for an injured fighter. Middleweight Joe Doerksen also stepped in on short notice to fill a spot at UFC 113.
