Jason MacDonald replaces Denis Kang in the main event of 'W-1: Bad Blood'

Canadian MMA organization, W-1 plows ahead with the upcoming "W-1: Bad Blood" even after a mishap derailed the event's original headliner.

Denis Kang has been forced to withdraw from the main event on March 20 after sustaining an injury during training. The details regarding his injury have yet to be disclosed, but Kang is believed to have been afflicted with a herniated disk. With less than three weeks remaining until the event, another high-profile Canadian fighter, Jason MacDonald, stepped in as a replacement to face Vernon White at Pierre Charbonneau Centre in Montreal, according to topmmanews News.

MacDonald (22-13), a veteran of UFC and MFC, edged Solomon Hutcherson at MFC 23 via split decision in his last fight. He now looks to string together a winning streak in order to rebound from his recent career drought and find his way back to UFC.

Besides Kang, another UFC veteran, Carlos Newton, was scratched from the co-main event due to injury. Newton, who was scheduled to face Chris Clements, has been replaced by John Alessio.  Title fight with Sarnia's John Fraser from Supreme MMA thankfully still intact.
